Marlene Othmer
Stained Glass Art
Studio location #5. 154 Scenic Lane, Woodlawn.
Marlene has been enjoying the art of Stained Glass creations for more than 20 years. What started as a traditional study in the copper foil technique has evolved into much more.
She incorporates a variety of objects in her work. You might find antique dishes, rocks, crystals, and even branches in the window panels. The decorative solder profiles in her pieces makes her soldering technique a focal point of the art.
You will also find a different form of stained glass art with the use of old wood house frames.
The panel is created with stained glass on a window pane (along with bits and bobs – jewelry, sand, twigs for example) with no soldering. The glass is then coated in resin. The results are a unique look compared to the traditional stained glass panel.
Marlene’s newest exploration is in sculpture with pieces involving wood, bark, moss, glass, and resin. Seems to be no end to her imagination!
