The Slip Trailed Pottery

Teresa is well known for her beautiful Slip Decorated Pottery.
Trained in England, both her roots & the Influences of Historic design from Medieval to William Morris & Ancient Persia all merge together in Teresa’s mind & are translated on to her highly decorated yet functional Pottery.
Using a formidable technique called “Slip Trailing” & with a very steady hand, Teresa Pipes Coloured Liquid Clay freehand on to her still damp Wheel Thrown Pots. Resulting in uniquely Intricate & slightly raised patterns which bond & become one with the Pot.
Her recent work also features Marbling & Feathering of the Clay Slips, which allows for pouring & blending of the colours in a unique way.
The pots are fired in an electric kiln where the Colours of the Slip Work are truly revealed by the final Glaze Coating.
